The latest addition to the minefield affecting men involved in divorce and separation
is the above subject.

It first came to light in America 3 or 4 years back as a result of maintenance
disputes where there was a suspicion that a father had been maintaining a child
or children he was not the biological father of.

The key to exposing this fraud was DNA testing which is in genetic terms a million times more accurate than blood group typing. The best that blood group typing could establish was that there could be a biological relationship because large numbers of people share similar blood characteristics. That inaccuracy has now gone.>

The deceit latent within marriage or cohabitation carried out by the wife or cohabitee 

who was having a concealed relationship knowing even if they were discovered they would be protected by the "guaranteed financial settlement" has now been exposed.

Through the action of Carnell Smith the matter has been brought to national attention 

in the USA. Fathers in increasing numbers are seeking DNA testing where there is possible doubt about the biological relationship between them and the child or  children they believed to be theirs. It has been found that up to 30% of fathers who undertook DNA testing discovered they had been maintaining a child or even children they were
not the biological father of.

Legislation is either complete or being completed in a number of States to release the father from any liability to maintain a child or children they are not the biological father of. The situation here has not yet reached the percentage experienced in the USA but it is on the rise. It is possible that the deceit deliberately carried out by wives may ultimately change an aspect of the divorce culture here where the "guaranteed financial settlement" may cease because of the proven deception carried out.
