ACTION 

The scourge in the growth of divorce brought by wives in the main for financial gain by using engineered divorce petitions continues to be supported and funded by social security.

The normal scenario is that wives desert the matrimonial home usually taking with them children. Children are the card when played which will produce accommodation. The local authority has a statutory duty to find and pay for a roof when children are involved, the. wife will then be able to claim social security for herself and the children.

In 1990 the burden of social security provision for deserting wives as well as the unmarried mother industry was beginning to bring what was known then as the public sector borrowing requirement (PSBR) to astronomical levels. Something had to be done to try and reduce it. Mrs Thatcher then Prime Minister came up with the idea of promoting the notion that divorced and separated fathers were not maintaining their children. This notion was sold to the public who naturally enough were taken in.

Having sown the seeds the Child Support Bill was drafted and brought to Parliament. It eventually passed into law as The Child Support Act 1991 and was implemented on April 5th 1993. (See CSA via the Men's Aid link)

All was quiet for a while and then in August 1993  a memo from the then Chief Executive of the Child Support Agency was leaked that ordered agency offices to target fathers who had been maintaining their children. There followed a massive campaign reaction as a large group of fathers who had been maintaining their children found they were now being pursued to also pay the social security their former wives and partners were claiming.

This reaction was then honed into the organization called the Network Against the Child Support Act (NACSA). Demonstrations were mounted around the country to expose the government duplicity in hoodwinking the public.
